This talk will delve into the history of scientific visualisation at the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF), highlighting successful collaborations with science teams. We will showcase exemplary science problems tackled at the facility and discuss our efforts in modernizing visualisation tools to harness the power of exascale computing, enabling groundbreaking insights and discoveries.
About the speakers:
Silvio Rizzi is a Computer Scientist at ALCF. His research interests are large-scale and in situ scientific visualisation and analysis, display technologies, and immersive visualisation environments. He has an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research, both from the University of Illinois-Chicago.
Joseph A. Insley leads the Visualization and Data Analysis team at ALCF. He develops scalable methods for large-scale data analysis and visualisation, and investigates immersive virtual and augmented reality environments. He holds an MFA and MS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers, receiving several awards, including the R&D100 award, Best Paper Awards, and an ACM Gordon Bell Finalist (Honorable Mention).
Victor A. Mateevitsi is a Computer Scientist at ALCF, specializing in visualisation, virtual reality, and human-computer interaction. With a background in computer science and experience at Pixar, DreamWorks, and Microsoft Research, he brings a unique perspective to the field. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
