Pedro Alberto
Pedro Alberto is Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Coimbra, with a PhD in Theoretical Physics. He leads the University HPC Center which belongs to the National Roadmap of Research Infrastructures. His activities in HPC date back 25 years, including giving classes on Parallel Computing and organizing HPC training events. He was involved in PRACE and its projects since its beginning, including leading a SHAPE industrial project. He was a PRACE Council delegate representing Portugal and as of now represents University of Coimbra as a Lead Member in the current PRACE phase.
Currently he participates in the EuroHPC projects EuroCC2 and EUMaster4HPC. Industry-wise, he participates in the EDIH ATTRACT as well as in a Portuguese HPC Industrial project . He is an observer at the EuroHPC INFRAG advisory committee.
His research interests are in Relativistic Quantum Mechanics with possible applications to Quantum Computing.
